One of the most capped LA Galaxy Academy players to feature with LA Galaxy II, Hernandez made 32 appearances across four seasons before signing for Los Dos in September 2019. He made his debut for Galaxy II on April 22, 2017 at the age of 16. This season with Los Dos, Hernandez has made six starts in 13 appearances, tallying one goal and one assist.
Hernandez was named LA Galaxy Academy Player of the Year in 2017, leading the U-17/18s to the final of the USSDA Playoffs in addition to making 13 appearances for Los Dos in that same season. Also in 2017, Hernandez was named the U-15/16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Western Conference Player of the Year.
