2005 MLS Cup champion Ned Grabavoy announces his retirement at year's-end | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Ned Grabavoy, MLS veteran and 2005 MLS Cup champion with the LA Galaxy, announced his retirement after an accomplished 13-year career.


Grabavoy, who is currently with the Portland Timbers, will hang up his boots after the conclusion of the Timbers’ 2016 campaign. The Timbers are presently fighting for one of the final three spots in the Western Conference playoff chase heading into the final week of the season. 


Originally drafted by the LA Galaxy in 2004, the 33-year-old made 301 league appearances for six different clubs throughout his 13-year career in Major League Soccer. Grabavoy is one of 39 players in league history to make 300 or more league appearances.


Grabavoy won two MLS Cups throughout his career, in 2005 with the Galaxy and in 2009 with Real Salt Lake.
