CARSON, Calif.— LA Galaxy Reserves head coach Curt Onalfo has called up four Academy players for tonight’s MLS Reserve League season finale against Chivas USA. Forwards Adonis Amaya and Bradford Jamieson IV and defenders Malcolm Jones and Jeffrey Quezada will be available for selection in the game, which kicks off at 7 p.m. on StubHub Center Field No. 4.
This is Amaya’s first call up for to an MLS Reserve League game, while Jamieson, Jones and Quezada have already been a part in two Reserve League games already. All three were available for selection in the 0-0 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes on Sept. 1 and the 2-2 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Sept. 8. Jamieson and Quezada saw action in both games while Jones came on for the final 22 minutes of the game against Colorado.
Amaya, who is in his first season with the LA Galaxy Academy, currently leads the LA Galaxy Academy U-18’s in scoring with seven goals through five games.
The Galaxy reserves enter the game with a 4-1-4 record through nine games, tops in the MLS Reserve League West Division with a points per game average of 1.78. A win against Chivas USA would ensure that LA finishes ahead of Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1.6 PPG) and Real Salt Lake (1.5 PPG) in terms of points per game, clinching a second-consecutive Reserve League division championship for the Galaxy.
