The LA Galaxy Special Olympics Unified Athlete’s impressive blast against the San Jose Earthquakes back in August took home the honor with a whopping 47.7 percent of the vote.
Jones' screamer came during the closing stages of the Unified team’s 4-0 victory over the Earthquakes on Aug. 27. The Simi Valley native’s goal won Goal of the Month honors for August and was also included in SportsCenter’s nightly Top 10.
The LA Galaxy Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) Unified squad enjoyed a perfect season in 2017, winning all three of their games and scoring 20 goals while notching a +15 goal differential.
