CARSON, Calif. – MLS expansion club Atlanta United will break a 21-year league record held by the LA Galaxy this weekend.
Atlanta United will break the league’s single-game attendance record with more than 69,255 tickets sold for Saturday’s match against Orlando City SC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The attendance will snap a record set by the LA Galaxy in their inaugural match against the New York/New Jersey MetroStars at the Rose Bowl set on April 13, 1996.
The Galaxy will take on Atlanta United for the first-time ever on Sept. 20.
