Curt Onalfo says LA Galaxy beginning to come together with preseason looming | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – New LA Galaxy head coach Curt Onalfo has his coaching staff and now he’s looking to get his roster in the right place ahead of the opening of preseason training camp later this month.

Onalfo, who was hired last month to replace Bruce Arena, unveiled his coaching staff on Wednesday. Joining Onalfo’s staff are fellow Galaxy original Ante Razov as well as former Galaxy II assistants Rob Becerra and Daniel Gonzalez.

About a month into his tenure as the new Galaxy head coach, Onalfo is pleased with how his group is coming together.

"I feel good. You always want more hours in the day quite frankly, but as we've said from the beginning, we have an excellent core of players already,” Onalfo told LA Galaxy Insider. “We will add players as well, and we're all looking forward to getting to work and making each player better to mold the group into the way that we want to play. We want to get the team in a place where we can hit the ground running.”

Eager to start the preseason on the right foot, Onalfo admits that he and the rest of the Galaxy front office are hard at work looking to add to a roster that he already considers one of the more talented in MLS.

"We feel very good in terms of players that we're looking to add at the top end of our roster,” Onalfo said. “I keep saying that we're confident in the group that we already have and there are a lot of players that make up the depth of our team that our fan base doesn't know much about that will also be contributing in terms of pushing the starting group.

“We're the Galaxy, and our DNA is to go after world-class players, and we'll continue to do that.  At the same time, we already have world class players already on the team, but also players with a lot of potential that will contribute to make sure that our team is strong all the way through.”
