LA Galaxy stars Giovani dos Santos, and Romain Alessandrini are quickly blossoming into one of the most feared attacking partnerships in Major League Soccer.
The two have formed a dangerous attacking tandem for the Galaxy in recent weeks, playing a major role in the team’s current four-game unbeaten streak. Alessandrini and dos Santos have rapidly become vital to Curt Onalfo’s squad with the duo having either scored or assisted on all but one of the team’s 15 goals this season.
“I think we have a good relationship off the field and on it. Alessandrini is a great player, and for me, he’s easy to understand because we think in the same way,” dos Santos said. “On the pitch, I know where he’s going to be, and he knows where I am and because of this we can create a lot of chances.”
Alessandrini readily agrees with the Mexican star about their bond both on and off the field.
The dynamic French midfielder even admits that playing with dos Santos have helped him achieve a form that he has not experienced since his time with French side Rennes when he scored 20 goals in 50 matches.
“We understand soccer in the same way. Gio is the best player, and I need to play with him. I know that if I give him the ball, he can give me the ball too,” Alessandrini said. “He understands my game, and I understand his. It’s important for us to have Gio at 100 percent and since the month has gone on, he’s played better, and that has helped us win.”
