CARSON, Calif. – Former LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard is joining the professional coaching ranks.
The English midfielder was announced on Friday as the new head coach of Scottish giants Rangers FC. Gerrard had previously coached in Liverpool FC’s youth academy after his retirement following the 2016 MLS campaign.
Speaking at his introductory press conference, the Liverpool FC and England legend said that he’s ready to lead Rangers to titles.
“It was a no-brainer for me," Gerrard said. "There were a lot of different things to think about but from that first call, I got a special feeling and knew that Rangers were for me.”
