LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos was controversially left off of Mexico's roster for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, but the Mexican forward took to Twitter to address his omission from the squad.
Several hours after Juan Carlos Osorio announced his 23-man roster for this summer's tournament, Dos Santos tweeted his thoughts.
"I am deeply grateful to the FMF for considering me. I can not participate at this time, but my heart will always be with you," Dos Santos tweeted. "I hope to return with great enthusiasm to wear the shirt of my beloved country.
"To Juan Carlos Osorio and my brothers of the Mexican team, I wish you an excellent tournament with much encouragement and success."
