CONCACAF announced the 35-man provisional rosters for the upcoming CONCACAF Cup between the Mexico and the United States at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and LA Galaxy players are represented on both sides.
Giovani dos Santos, who was famously excluded from Mexico’s two September friendlies was named to Mexico’s provisional squad by El Tri interim manager Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti. Recent reports out of Mexico confirm that the inclusion of Dos Santos comes with little surprise after the coach had expressed internal interest in bringing the LA Galaxy forward back in the fold.
On the American side, defender Omar Gonzalez, forward Alan Gordon and forward Gyasi Zardes were named to the provisional roster by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Gonzalez and Zardes were both included in the USMNT’s September friendlies while Gordon will hope to make his first U.S. appearance since the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
