CARSON, Calif. – Gyasi Zardes confirmed on Twitter that the surgery to repair the broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot was successful.
Zardes underwent surgery in Santa Monica to correct the injury that he suffered in the first half of the Galaxy’s scoreless draw with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Although Zardes was ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told reporters that the striker could return for a potential playoff run.
