CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena says Gyasi Zardes is expected to return to training later this week after missing the Galaxy's 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC last Sunday.
Zardes missed the Galaxy's match in Seattle last week with a chest muscle strain suffered in practice. Arena told reporters on Wednesday that Zardes trained downstairs in the gym and is expected to return to the practice field later "this week."
"Gyasi was pretty active today," Arena said. "We just had him in the gym, but he was doing well."
The 24-year-old striker has notched five goals and four assists in 15 games this season.
