CARSON, Calif.— Forward Bradford Jamieson IV and defenders Malcolm Jones and Jeffrey Quezada of the LA Galaxy Academy U-18’s were called up by LA Galaxy Reserve Team Head Coach Curt Onalfo for Sunday’s MLS Reserve League game against San Jose.
Jamieson, 16, Jones, 16, and Quezada, 16, three of the youngest members on the Galaxy U-18’s, were on the bench for Sunday’s 0-0 draw. Quezada saw 15 minutes of actions, after coming on for Pablo Mastroeni, while Jamieson played the game's final four minutes after replacing Michael Stephens. Jones was the lone Academy product to dress but not see action in the game.
All three youngsters are in their first year in the Galaxy Academy. Jamieson and Jones were both part of U.S. Soccer’s 2013 Spring Semester Under-17 Residency Program while Quezada is a standout defender who already gave top-ranked UC Santa Barbara a verbal commitment.
They were joined on the bench for the game by former Galaxy U-18 star Raul Mendiola, who played the gam'es final 23 minutes in place of Jose Villarreal.
The Galaxy Academy U-18’s opem the 2013-14 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season in Seattle against the Sounders FC Academy on Sept. 21. The following day, the Galaxy U-18’s are in Portland to take on the Portland Timbers Academy.
