On Tuesday, November 19 forty LA Galaxy Boys’ Academy players spent the afternoon packaging over 1,140 meal kits for local senior citizens at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (LARFB).
The mission of LARFB is to mobilize resources to fight hunger by collecting food from hundreds of resources, which – with the help of 30,000 volunteers annually – are distributed through a network of more than 600 partner agencies. To aid LARFB’s efforts, the Boys’ Academy student-athletes boxed, sorted and assembled food for senior citizens facing food insecurity based on household income.
The LA Galaxy Foundation participates in monthly community service projects within Los Angeles community throughout the 2019 season. Learn about and sign up for our next volunteer project at https://www.lagalaxy.com/community/galaxygiving.
