LOS ANGELES – The United States and Mexico are off to the U-17 World Cup.
The U.S. U-17’s qualified for this fall’s tournament in Brazil with a 3-0 victory over Panama. LA Galaxy Academy stalwarts Adam Saldana and Kobe Hernandez-Foster started the match while new Galaxy II defender Mauricio Cuevas was an unused substitute.
Just hours later, Efrain Alvarez’s Mexico side reached the U-17 World Cup with a 5-1 victory over El Salvador. Alvarez did not feature in the match.
The U.S. will face Canada in the semifinals on Tuesday, with Mexico taking on Haiti.
