CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo was named to Panama's 23-man roster for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup on Thursday.
A mainstay on the Panama squad, the 33-year-old goalkeeper has 103 appearances for his nation. The reigning Golden Gloves holder in the regional tournament, Penedo nearly backstopped Panama to the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup title before falling to the U.S. National Team in the final.
The 2015 edition of the tournament runs from July 7 to July 26 but Panama is scheduled to convene in preparation for the tournament on June 15. Penedo's participation in the tournament could see him miss as many as six league matches.
