The LA Galaxy Foundation celebrated the third annual LA Fleet Week by hosting 50 United States Sea Service members for a soccer-filled experience at the StubHub Center on August 29th.
The LA Fleet Week provides the unique experience to honor and recognize all the service and sacrifices of United States Sea Service members. With various events based at Port of Los Angeles and around the Los Angeles area, the public can tour various ships and display their gratitude throughout the Labor Day weekend.
Members from the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy arrived Wednesday morning, immediately taking the field to participate in a soccer clinic run by LA Galaxy Camps and Clinics coaches. After plenty of sweat, goal-celebrations and friendly competition, the group finished their clinic and walked over to get a front row seat for an LA Galaxy team training session.
Servicemen and women were able to swap their new soccer knowledge with the Galaxy players during an autograph session following practice. Following a group photo, participants were given a behind-the-scenes tour throughout the StubHub Center and inside LA Galaxy facilities.
Working up an appetite from their morning workout, participants were welcomed into the American Express Stadium Club for a meal served by LA Galaxy staff and LA Galaxy Star Squad members. U.S Coast Guard and U.S Navy members left the StubHub Center with an autographed-filled scarf and a full stomach, ready to slide-tackle the rest of LA Fleet Week.
