Landon Donovan marked his return to the professional game by making a brief cameo for Club Leon on Saturday.
Donovan played the final eight minutes for Leon in their 2-1 victory over Puebla at the Estadio Leon. The match was Donovan’s first appearance for the club since coming out of retirement for a second time last month to join the Mexican side.
The Galaxy legend was active despite his brief cameo, nearly finding the back of the net in the closing seconds before a deflection bounced off his feet.
The 35-year-old will his next opportunity to take the field on Wednesday when Leon face Santos Laguna.
