CARSON, Calif. – Forbes Magazine ranked the LA Galaxy as Major League Soccer’s most valuable club in their annual valuation of the United States’ top soccer league.
The Galaxy were ranked first with a value of $315 million, which is a 19% increase from last year. Per Forbes’ estimates, the Galaxy generated an estimated $63 million in revenue last year, far surpassing any other team. Los Angeles currently holds the league’s most valuable broadcasting partnership with Spectrum SportsNet ($5.5 million per year) and stadium rights deal with StubHub ($10 million-plus per year).
Seattle Sounders FC ($295 million) and Toronto FC ($280 million) round out the top three in the Forbes list.
Forbes also ranked Galaxy fans as the third most engaged supporters in the league, behind the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders FC who tied for first. The rankings were based on four consumption metrics: attendance, social media, merchandise sales, and television ratings.
