CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy remain near the top of the heap in the three most notable MLS Power Rankings.

The Galaxy extended their winning streak to four games with their 2-1 victory over the Portland Timbers last Saturday. Despite their win over Portland, the Galaxy remained in second in Sports Illustrated rankings and third in both the ESPN FC and MLSsoccer.com lists.

The rankings with their explanations can be found below:

SI.com: 2nd

"The Galaxy scored early at Portland, instantly taking the crowd a little bit out of the game before clinging to a one-goal lead. It was a professional performance from the Galaxy, who got good performances from names big (Robbie Keane, Jelle Van Damme, Gyasi Zardes) and small (Emmanuel Boateng, Brian Rowe)."

ESPN FC: 3rd

"The Galaxy scored a pair of goals before we even had a chance to take in the atmosphere at Providence Park on Saturday and forced Portland Timbers to chase the game, falling right into Bruce Arena's hands."

MLSsoccer.com: 3rd

"The only team in the league with a winning streak, the Galaxy aren't firing on all cylinders just yet in attack, but their defense has smothered all comers. That's the typical building block for Bruce Arena teams."
