CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy took a tumble in the league's power rankings after their 4-2 defeat to Seattle Sounders FC.

Los Angeles fell to third in the Western Conference after their surprise home defeat to Seattle, which gave the Sounders their first win at StubHub Center since 2009. The Galaxy remained in fourth in SI.com's rankings, but slipped to sixth and 10th respectively in the MLSsoccer.com and ESPN FC lists.

The Power Rankings and their explanations can be found below:

SI.com: 4th

"The Galaxy failed to lock up a spot in the playoffs and lost at home for the first time all season as the Seattle Sounders left StubHub Center with a 4-2 win. The Galaxy generated plenty of chances, but defensive breakdowns were their undoing. Against a Sounders team with their backs against the wall, this is a forgivable loss, but Bruce Arena will want to finish the season stronger than this heading into the playoffs."

MLSsoccer.com: 6th
"Have conceded 11 goals in their last four games. What happened to the team that conceded a goal per game in their first 27?"
ESPN FC: 10th
"The first home loss of the year for the Galaxy represented a different type of performance for Bruce Arena's team with lots of shots and poor defending. Back to the drawing board."
