On Friday, November 16th, over 30 members of LA Galaxy Front Office and Supporters volunteered at Union Rescue Mission’s “FryDay” providing a Thanksgiving meal for over 3,000 people from the Skid Row area.
Volunteers were tasked with frying over 500 turkeys throughout the day as well as carving the crispy birds to be served at the feast on Saturday.
LA Galaxy Marketing Manager Jacqueline Kenny was in attendance at FryDay and reflected on her experience:
“I’m fortunate enough to always spend my Thanksgiving surrounded by a loving family, a warm house to come home to and an abundance of delicious food. It’s both very humbling and eye-opening to volunteer at events like FryDay as they serve as a reminder how many people in Los Angeles, 10 miles away from where I live, do not have that same luxury.”
Galaxy Giving, LA Galaxy Foundation’s monthly community service project, allows the opportunity for Galaxy players, staff and supporters to join forces in supporting our community.
