CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy Under-16 striker Jorge Hernandez was named the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Western Conference Player of the Year for his age division on Thursday.
Hernandez made 20 appearances for the Galaxy academy squad this season, scoring four times and tallying two assists. The 16-year-old from Riverside has also played four times with USL affiliate LA Galaxy II.
In addition to Hernandez, LA Galaxy U-15/16 defender Leonardo Sepulveda was also named to the Western Conference Best XI. On the U-17/18 side, Galaxy defender Erick Gallinar earned a place on the West’s top XI players.
