TUCSON, Ariz. – Striker Ola Kamara is getting rave reviews from the LA Galaxy’s most electric attackers in recent days.
The Galaxy acquired the striker last week in a deal with Columbus Crew SC, bringing one of the league’s top forwards to StubHub Center. Kamara arrives to a Galaxy team loaded with attacking midfielders, but one that struggled to find the back of the net at times a year ago.
Romain Alessandrini, who led the Galaxy in goals in 2017, has been pleased with the attacker who he believes will be a major asset for the squad in the coming months.
“He’s a good guy. I think that he can do a lot of big things for the club. He’s a really good striker,” Alessandrini told LA Galaxy Insider. “We need someone who will score and give assists. We’ll see in the future if we can combine together with all the attacking talent we have. We have good players in the attack, so we’ll see.”
Giovani dos Santos took the complimentary tone a step further, saying that Kamara is a “killer” in front of the net.
“It helps a lot. He’s a great striker,” dos Santos said. “His movements are always dangerous. I watched him a lot last year and I knew that he’s a killer in front of goal. I’m excited to play to play with him and very pleased with I’m seeing in training.”
