LOS ANGELES – The LA Galaxy kick off their U.S. Open Cup campaign on Wednesday when they face off against amateur side Orange County FC.
Orange County FC, led by former Galaxy player Paul Caligiuri, are the final amateur club remaining in the tournament. The NPSL club have eliminated two USL Championship sides on their path to the fourth round of the Open Cup.
Despite the massive disparity between the two sides, Galaxy head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto believes that his side must be mindful of the challenge they’ll face on Wednesday.
“The challenge is about us. We need to be serious, professional, and we need to win,” Schelotto said. “The most important thing to know about this game is that we need to know that this will be a very emotional game for them. They will be desperate to show what they can do to everyone which is why we need to be professional and take care of them."
Tickets to the Fourth Round matchup, along with any 2019 U.S. Open Cup match hosted at Dignity Health Sports Park, are included in the 2019 LA Galaxy Season Ticket Membership. Tickets are on sale now at www.lagalaxy.com/tickets. Parking to the match is free.
