LOS ANGELES – Guillermo Barros Schelotto believes that he will have a close to full strength lineup when the LA Galaxy take on the Colorado Rapids on Saturday in their final preseason game.
Zlatan Ibrahimović (precautionary reasons) and Ola Kamara are expected to be available against the Rapids, while Sebastian Lletget (hamstring) and Giovani dos Santos remain doubtful.
The Galaxy’s super Swede returns to the lineup with the team in the midst of a retooling ahead of the start of the regular season.
The defense has been a major point of emphasis for Schelotto’s staff after the team conceded a whopping 64 goals a season ago. The hard work appears to have paid off this preseason with the squad only conceding four goals this preseason.
With the home opener fast approaching, the Galaxy’s boss is pleased with the team’s progress.
“We are doing pretty good and getting better. We’ve got two weeks until Chicago and we’re getting better still,” Schelotto said. “We’re doing well on the field.”
