Chris Wood put the Kiwis ahead just before the end of the first half, but Mexico tallied two unanswered goals in the second stanza from Raul Jimenez and Oribe Peralta to keep Juan Carlos Osorio's side unbeaten. Mexico's win officially eliminated the champions from Oceania from the tournament.

Mexico concludes the Confederations Cup group stage on Saturday when they take on Russia in Kazan. A win or a draw against the hosts will put El Tri into the next round of the tournament.
