CARSON, Calif. – The 2018 MLS SuperDraft is fast approaching and on Thursday, the league announced the initial list of players scheduled to participate in the 2018 adidas MLS Player Combine.
Sigi Schmid and the LA Galaxy hold the second overall selection for next month’s draft which is scheduled to take place in Philadelphia on Friday, Jan. 19. The draft choice is the Galaxy’s highest since they took central defender Omar Gonzalez from the University of Maryland with the third selection back in 2009.
On Thursday, the league announced their initial list of 60 NCAA DI college players who will participate in the combine in Orlando, FL from Jan. 11 to Jan. 17. A committee of coaches from MLS and NCAA Division I universities from every conference selected the invitees, who have all completed their college eligibility.
Additional invitees will be announced ahead of the combine.
