The LA Galaxy may be closer to signing English defender Joleon Lescott according to various reports out of England.
Sky Sports and The Telegraph filed identical reports stating that the Galaxy have made a bid for the Aston Villa defender and offered the Englishman a three-year contract to head to Southern California. Lescott helped the Villans earn their first win in 20 Premier League matches last week with a goal in their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
The 33-year-old English international has made a total of 269 appearances in the English Premier League across his nearly 16-year professional career.
UPDATE: FOX Soccer's Alexi Lalas tweeted on Friday that the Galaxy have told him that they have not made an offer of any amount for the defender.
