CARSON, Calif. – Robbie Keane signaled his return from injury in a major way on Saturday.
The 35-year-old LA Galaxy captain scored two goals in 60 minutes of action during the LA Galaxy’s match with the New England Revolution. Showing no signs of rust in his first action since March 19, Keane was a threat to score each time he moved toward goal.
The Galaxy captain opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he made a tough finish on a Gyasi Zardes’ cross near the goal line to give Los Angeles the lead. Keane added a second in the dying moments of the first half when he tapped in another Zardes cross into the back of the net. The goal gave Keane his 19th multi-goal game of his Galaxy tenure.
