TUCSON, Ariz. – Romain Alessandrini heads into the 2018 campaign with high expectations after his impressive debut season in Los Angeles, and the Frenchman intends to put in the hard work.
Alessandrini led the way for the LA Galaxy a year ago, scoring 13 goals and 12 assists while winning the team’s Most Valuable Player award. In 2017, the Galaxy’s offense revolved around the talented midfielder, but this season, Sigi Schmid has brought in reinforcements with the additions of Ola Kamara and Chris Pontius, among others.
During the offseason Alessandrini worked tirelessly to prepare for the season ahead, even using Instagram story to document his daily workouts. For the attacker, nothing was more important than being ready for the season ahead.
“I tried to work during my offseason for six weeks. I took three weeks to just chill with my family, but I tried to keep my body fit," Alessandrini told LA Galaxy Insider at the team's preseason training camp. "When you have a two-month offseason, it’s hard for an athlete. It’s different. I like my vacation, but I like to be on the field more. In France, we have an offseason of just one month, so it’s very different.
“I want fans to know that I work hard for me and for the club.”
