Sebastian Lletget says return to the U.S. National Team will be "something special"

CARSON, Calif. – Sebastian Lletget is overjoyed to return to the U.S. National Team nearly 19 months since his devastating Lisfranc injury.

U.S. Head coach Dave Sarachan named the Galaxy midfielder to the 24-man U.S. National Team’s squad for matches against Brazil on Sept. 7 in New Jersey and Mexico on Sept. 11 in Nashville.

Sidelined for the duration of the 2017 season after undergoing surgery to repair his Lisfranc fracture in his left foot, Lletget worked his way back to fitness and has made 23 appearances in 2018, scoring three times and adding one assist.

After a hellish 2017 season spent on the sidelines, Lletget admits to being overcome with emotion at getting the chance to represent the Red, White, and Blue yet again.

“It means to me, it means the world to my family and anyone that has gotten me to this point in my recovery or in my career. It shows how far we've come and it shows that when you're coming back from a potentially career-ending injury, if you put enough work in, you can do things like this,” Lletget told LAGalaxy.com.

“I found tremendous inspiration and I found my love for the game in a different way through this whole journey. This is going to be something special to put the shirt back on. It’ll be amazing.”
