LOS ANGELES -- LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic was honored with a statue in his hometown of Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday morning.
Ibrahimovic was presented with a statue outside the ground of Swedbank Stadion, the home stadium of his first club, Malmö FF. Nearly a thousand fans were in attendance as the nine-foot statue designed by veteran Swedish sculpture artist Peter Lind of the Swedish soccer legend was unveiled.
"When you come to New York you have the Statue of Liberty when you come to Sweden you have the Statue of Zlatan," he said.
