CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy Academy will have three representatives in the upcoming U-17 FIFA World Cup in Chile.
LA Galaxy II goalkeeper Eric Lopez and Galaxy Academy defender Hugo Arrellano were named to Richie Williams' 21-man roster for the upcoming U-17 World Cup. The U.S. will compete in Group A with host Chile, Croatia, and Nigeria. Williams' squad will open group play against Nigeria on Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. PT before taking on Croatia on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. PT. They'll end round against Chile on Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. PT.
Meanwhile Galaxy Academy goalkeeper Abraham Romero will represent Mexico's U-17 squad and serve as one of the three 'keepers for the two-time U-17 champions. Mexico was drawn into Group C alongside Australia, Germany, and Argentina. Romero and El Tri will begin the tournament against Argentina on Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. PT in Chillan and then face Australia on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. PT. Mexico wraps up group play against Germany on Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. PT
