CARSON, Calif. – Various media reports are linking LA Galaxy midfielder Nigel de Jong to a potential move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
The news first surfaced in the Netherlands that the Turkish giants were targeting De Jong to bolster their midfield ahead of their own 2016-17 campaign. According to Dutch newspaper AD, De Jong left for Istanbul on Monday to finalize a deal with Galatasaray.
However, Los Angeles Times reporter Kevin Baxter reported that De Jong remains in Southern California, but revealed through a source that talks are ongoing between the Galaxy and the Turkish side.
De Jong has made 18 league appearances for the Galaxy this season.
