CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy’s newest signing João Pedro will be wearing an unorthodox number in his first year with the club.
The Galaxy’s 23-year-old Portuguese midfielder will be wearing the No. 58 with the team this season. As for why he chose the number, Pedro told LA Galaxy Insider that he reason is deeply personal to him.
“I wear the number because five is the date that my sister was born. She was born on July 5th and I chose eight because it’s my favorite number,” Pedro told LA Galaxy insider. “I just decided to put them together.”
Pedro wore the number 58 during his time with Portuguese club Vitória de Guimarães.
