CARSON, Calif. -- A right leg injury forced Giovani dos Santos from the LA Galaxy's 1-0 defeat to the Portland Timbers at halftime.
Dos Santos picked up the knock during a heated first half that saw the Galaxy go down to 10-men after Jelle Van Damme's controversial suspension. Following the match, head coach Curt Onalfo said that dos Santos would be evaluated next week.
“Gio has a slight strain to his hamstring or just tightness," Onalfo who replaced dos Santos with Ema Boateng at the half, said. "We’ll know more tomorrow, but he couldn’t go in the second half, so we had to make that change.”
