CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy will face Sacramento Republic in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16, U.S. Soccer revealed on Thursday.
The Galaxy will host the USL squad in the first-ever competitive meeting between the two California-based clubs. U.S. Soccer determined the Galaxy’s opponent via a live draw held at Soccer House in Chicago on Thursday.
The match will take place on June 28 at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium. Television and ticket info will be released at a later date.
Should the Galaxy advance, they’ll travel to face the winner of the San Jose Earthquakes-Seattle Sounders FC matchup.
