CARSON, Calif. – An LA Galaxy II player born in the year 2000 just scored a game-winning-goal and that can’t help but make this Insider feel old.
Jonah Estrada, a 16-year-old LA Galaxy Academy product, scored Galaxy II’s game-winner in last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Rio Grande Valley FC. The Santa Ana native was born on November 28, 2000, when I was … a 13-year-old eighth grader.
What a goal!

Just what else was going on back then? George W. Bush and Al Gore were still wrapped in a contentious recount process to determine the next President (hanging chads, anyone?) Back in late November 2000, Destiny’s Child topped the charts with Independent Women, Part 1. Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch That Stole Christmas topped the box offices and Survivor was America’s most-watched television show.
