Landon Donovan is reportedly returning to the LA Galaxy.

Los Angeles Times reporter Kevin Baxter confirmed a report from Sports Illustrated's Blake Thomson that Donovan is set to join the Galaxy to return for the remainder of the 2016 season.

According to Baxter, the announcement could happen as soon as Thursday.

Donovan retired from the game in 2014 after winning his sixth MLS Cup title and fourth with Los Angeles. In his final season in 2014, the league's all-time leader in goals scored and assists, notched 10 goals and 19 assists in 31 games.

Since retiring, Donovan has spent time working an analyst for Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Fox Sports, while also taking several forays into coaching. The 34-year-old also became a part-owner in English Premier League club Swansea City in July.
